Glenmore Park Brumbies RLFC
Every one was asking "Why don't you get a ride on mower" "Why doesn't the council get the tractors out"
It was simple ....the grounds were so wet nothing more than the weight of a hand lawn mower could do the job
So the call went out....what could we do if we had 50 more of these.....
and then they doubled
And then there were 3 and the kids started getting on on the action
And the numbers continued to grow as the facebook messages spread
Until the job was nearly done - What an awesome effort - you guys rock
And just like Gremlins after they're exposed to water.... we're multiplying! My faith has been restored. Love it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The Picture above made the Western Weekender - Now this is what we call community spirit! Amazing to see so many parents and kids from Glenmore Park Brumbies coming together today in Glenmore Park to get their sporting fields back into tip top condition.
AND JUST LIKE THAT, AFTER 4-5 HOURS OF PAINFUL LAPS AROUND BOTH SIDES OF THE GROUNDS THEY ARE MOWED AND READY FOR THE SUN TO DO ITS THING.
Today has made us realise how awesome our club is. At a guess we've just mowed our entire complex (about 15 acres) with normal mowers and plenty of help from various parents and kids in our club.
It was a massive effort and we're so appreciative of all the people who showed up to help on short notice and all based on our Facebook posts.
Thanks to all of you who came down today with mowers etc, we are now a chance of not only training but still hosting our Season Launch next week.
The club and all our teams owe you a huge thank you.
On behalf of the Executive, thanks for being with the Brumbies.
Great clubs become great clubs on the back of great people - Sunday Mark Wildman called on all the great people of the club to help and they came in numbers.
On behalf of Floody and myself, we'd like to thank the following people that came down today and helped make last nights idea a reality.
Your efforts were outstanding.
If I miss anyone I sincerely apologise.
