A message from the council so please try and help
Unfortunately I have received a complaint from the Rangers about the illegal parking of cars and trucks on game days around Ched Towns Oval. I appreciate how difficult it has been for you all to park and that parking is a concern but it really is becoming an issue of safety. Cars are parked in a precarious position where children could be harmed as well as over the pathway where residents are finding it difficult to walk. Visitors and club members may not be aware that within Glenmore Park cars can park partly on the curbed gutter and partly on the road.
Due to the narrow and confined road space, Glenmore Park is the only suburb this is permitted to occur. There are ample side streets not far from the fields that can be used for parking. Rangers are hoping that our patrons to heed this warning and if not, there is the possibility of fines in the future. Again I appreciate that it is difficult and I understand the situation is not easy and we have discussed this at length in the past. However now that residents have brought this issue to Council, Rangers they will be patrolling the area. Please be aware this is not the only site having difficulty, this is a problem that is wide spread and was discussed at the last Penrith Junior Rugby League Association meeting.
As clubs get bigger, the number of visitors grow therefore car space is limited. However I've been reminded that this parking is illegal and most of all, unsafe. Please pass this onto club patrons and ask them to please park legally and with caution and care.
